Privacy of the native Mac and iPad app

Local planning. No StellKlar account is required. Floor plans, imported PDF/image files, rooms, furniture, measurements, variants and exports are processed on your device or at the storage location you choose. PDF analysis and 3D rendering run locally. There is no developer-operated project server or automatic transmission of your plans to us. The app includes no advertising, tracking or analytics SDKs.
Local settings and device identity. Language, units, view/tutorial preferences and references to saved projects remain local. For device transfer, the app stores a random device identifier and cryptographic key material in the operating-system keychain, and trusted-device information locally. This identifier is not an advertising profile. Project files may contain project/device names and editing/transfer information.
Optional device transfer. Nearby devices are discovered on the local network. Device names, local network addresses, device identifiers and public keys are processed to establish the connection. A project package is sent directly to a target device only when you start a transfer and it is accepted there. The connection uses end-to-end encryption through Apple’s CryptoKit. Compare the displayed verification code. Recipients may retain their accepted copy. Denying local-network permission does not block local planning. Handoff also uses Apple’s system continuation information and settings; it does not automatically synchronise the entire project file.
Files, sharing and cloud folders. Sharing or transfer may send the entire project package, including the original PDF. PDF pages removed or hidden in the editor may remain in that original PDF; removing a plan page is not redaction. Check the contents before sharing. StellKlar does not automatically encrypt saved project files. AirDrop, recipients, your chosen iCloud/file providers and device backups may create further copies, including outside Switzerland. Their settings and privacy notices also apply. We do not promise exclusively local or Swiss storage for services you choose.
Support, App Store and external links. We receive the details and attachments in an email only if you choose to send it to us. The iCloud Mail, recipient, international-transfer and retention information below applies. Please do not send unnecessary private plans or other people’s data. Apple processes purchases, downloads and system diagnostics you enable under its own privacy terms; Apple may provide authorised diagnostic reports to the developer. Purposes and legal bases. These local file and connection functions provide the planning, storage and device transfer you request. Where we are a controller and the GDPR applies, necessary processing is based on performance of a contract under Article 6(1)(b); connection security relies on the legitimate interest in preventing unauthorised access under Article 6(1)(f). Swiss FADP purpose-limitation and proportionality principles also apply. An operating-system local-network permission is not consent to advertising or tracking. There is no advertising profiling or automated decision-making with legal or similarly significant effects.
Retention, deletion and rights. Local projects remain until you or the operating system delete them. Also remove exports, copies, trash and backups where needed. Uninstalling does not necessarily delete external files, keychain data or copies on other devices. We cannot remotely access or erase files held only on your devices. Statutory exceptions remain applicable.

Nicolas Babbi is responsible for stellklar.app. This site presents StellKlar for Mac and iPad. It provides no checkout, visitor account, project upload or public newsletter registration, comments, likes or sharing widgets. This notice covers the website and email enquiries, not automatically every processing operation of the native apps.
Hosting and security
When you visit, WordPress.com/Automattic and the delivery and security providers process data including IP address, date/time, URL, technical status, browser/device details and, where applicable, the referring page. Images may use the WordPress CDN; Cloudflare supports delivery and abuse prevention. WP Cloud Bot Protection may check browser and behaviour signals on administration/access pages. This serves delivery and security; where the GDPR applies, our legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) is the basis. Swiss data-protection principles, including purpose limitation and proportionality, also apply.
Statistics only with consent
Jetpack Stats and Bilmur from WordPress.com/Automattic measure visits, clicks and technical performance. This can involve IP address, page/referrer URL, timestamp, browser, language, approximate country and loading times. Optional scripts and pixels load only after explicit consent to Statistics & performance, including for Swiss visitors. Where the GDPR applies, the basis is Article 6(1)(a). Jetpack states a 28-day retention period for Stats raw logs; this is not a promise covering all hosting, security or Bilmur data. See the linked provider information.
Your choice
Complianz stores your privacy choice using necessary cookies for up to 180 days; browser session storage may also be used. Essential technology stays active. Rejecting leaves the content available and optional measurement blocked. You can change or withdraw consent at any time using Privacy settings. Withdrawal reloads the page to stop already running measurement scripts. It does not retrospectively invalidate earlier lawful processing. Language selection follows the URL, not an additional language profile.

If you write to us, we process your sender address, message, voluntary details, attachments and delivery information to reply. The mailbox uses Apple iCloud Mail; Apple Distribution International Ltd., Ireland, serves Swiss customers. Other Apple companies, especially Apple Inc., United States, may be involved. iCloud Mail is not end-to-end encrypted. Please do not send unnecessary sensitive data or other people’s property documents. Contract/pre-contract enquiries may rely on GDPR Article 6(1)(b); other replies on our legitimate interest under (f), subject to legal duties.
Recipients, transfers and retention
Recipients include the hosting, security, statistics and email providers named above and necessary technical service providers. Processing may occur in Switzerland, the EEA, particularly Ireland, and the United States; Swiss-only storage is not promised. Automattic also lists AWS in the United States for storage/backups. Provider documents describe additional recipients and international transfers. The applicable adequacy or contractual safeguards depend on the recipient and contracts; contact us for the grounds applying to this website. This notice does not assert that an unverified processing agreement has been signed. Emails and other data are retained only as needed for enquiries, operation, legal duties or necessary legal claims. Technical log and backup periods also depend on the service; no single period is promised for all services.
Your rights
Contact [email protected] to request access, rectification and, where conditions are met, erasure, restriction or delivery/portability of your data. You may withdraw consent for the future and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Legal exceptions remain applicable. We verify identity proportionately and respond within the applicable statutory deadlines. You may complain to the Swiss FDPIC or, where the GDPR applies, a competent European supervisory authority. We make no automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
Apps and external links
Native StellKlar apps save projects at the chosen location and do not operate a StellKlar project cloud. Your own iCloud folders, file providers, backups and deliberate sharing may create further copies. Files emailed to us are separate. App Store visits and other deliberately opened external sites are additionally governed by their own notices. This website notice does not replace the privacy information of the relevant app release.
